Jennieke is a certified yoga teacher, iniatiated in the lineage of Sivananda Yoga. Studying and Practising the art of Yoga for over 20 years. She has traveled around the world for 12 years, being able to experience different Yogastyles, schools; Sivananda, Kundalini, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Bhakti, Karma, Nada yoga. She uses her insights of all these experiences in her classes. Yoga felt always very healing, calming and energizing in the same time to Jennieke. And she believes that in this busy time, where there is a overload of noises, stimulants,stress there is a great need to learn to relax, surrender, let go and still the mind. This is the true essence and aim of Yoga.So everybody has the potential to experience their innate birthright of Health and Peace of Mind. Jennieke founded Sharanam Yoga in 2006. Sharanam means Surrender. She quotes Healing through Surrender. Gentle Yoga offers a slower paced introduction to yoga asana (posture) and pranayama (breath). We will focus on learning basic poses of a Hatha Yoga practice, coordinating movement with breath, and relaxing and renewing in restorative poses. Special attention will be paid to the use of props in adapting poses to make them more accessible, and more comfortable, to all. |
